Who we are
Fast Fix Handyman is a family-run handyman and multi-trade property maintenance business based in Chinbrook, Bromley, UK. We serve Bromley and nearby areas.
Our website is https://fastfixhandyman.co.uk. For privacy enquiries, contact us at info@fastfixhandyman.co.uk.
We are the data controller for personal information described in this policy.
What personal data we collect
We only collect information you choose to give us when enquiring about work. This may include:
- Contact form — name, phone number, email address (optional), postcode (optional), description of work required, and your preferred contact method. Submissions are sent to our server at
/api/contact. - WhatsApp — if you message us on WhatsApp, we receive the information you send (such as your name, messages, photos and any contact details in your WhatsApp profile). WhatsApp is operated by Meta; their privacy policy applies to your use of that service.
- Email — if you email us directly, we receive your email address, message content and any information you include.
We do not knowingly collect special category data through this website. Please do not send sensitive personal information unless it is necessary for the work you are asking about.
Legal basis for processing
Under UK GDPR, we rely on the following lawful bases:
- Legitimate interests — to respond to enquiries, provide quotes, schedule and carry out property maintenance work, and keep appropriate business records. We balance this against your rights and only use your data as reasonably needed for these purposes.
- Consent — where you submit our contact form or contact us voluntarily, you are asking us to respond. You may withdraw consent for future contact at any time by emailing us, though we may need to retain certain records where required for legal or accounting purposes.
- Contract — if you proceed with booked work, we process your details as necessary to perform our agreement with you.
How we use your data
We use personal data to:
- Respond to quote requests and follow up on enquiries
- Arrange visits, schedule work and communicate about jobs in progress
- Maintain business records for completed and ongoing work
- Improve how we handle enquiries (for example, reviewing common questions)
We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your information for unrelated marketing unless you have clearly agreed to that separately.
How and where data is stored
Contact form submissions are processed by a Cloudflare Worker (our hosting provider) and stored in a Google Sheet, accessed by our business using a Google service account. Only authorised people in our business can access enquiry records.
Email and WhatsApp messages are handled through those respective services. Data may be processed on servers outside the UK; where providers transfer data internationally, they are required to apply appropriate safeguards under UK data protection law.
Data retention
We keep enquiry and job-related information for as long as reasonably necessary to manage quotes, complete work, handle follow-up questions and meet legal, tax or accounting requirements. Enquiries that do not lead to work are typically deleted within a reasonable period (generally up to two years), unless we need to retain them longer for a legitimate business or legal reason.
Third parties
We use trusted service providers who process data on our behalf, including:
- Cloudflare — website hosting, security and contact form processing
- Google — spreadsheet storage for contact form submissions
- Meta (WhatsApp) — if you contact us via WhatsApp
These providers act as processors or independent controllers according to their own terms. We do not share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
Cookies and similar technologies
Our contact form does not use tracking cookies. Our website may use essential cookies set by Cloudflare for security and performance. We do not currently use analytics or advertising cookies on this site. For more detail, see our Cookie Policy.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you have rights including:
- Access to the personal data we hold about you
- Correction of inaccurate data
- Erasure in certain circumstances
- Restriction or objection to processing in certain circumstances
- Data portability where applicable
To exercise these rights, email info@fastfixhandyman.co.uk. We may need to verify your identity before responding.
You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) if you are unhappy with how we handle your data: ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will change when we do. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
